********* and appalling service received: Dome WBC
********* and appalling service received: The Dome WBC
i visited We Buy Cars Dome on 1 September 2026 and test-drove a 2017 Audi SQ5, listed on auction at the time. Below is a summarised sequence of events:
On the 2 September engaged with pleasant sales consultant, named Luke regarding the purchase of the 2017 SQ5 and a trade-in of my vehicle.
During my visit at the branch my trade in was evaluated. Following negotiations, i accepted the trade offer from WBC.
At approximately, 14:30, informed Luke that accepted the trade-in offer and would proceed with the purchase of the vehicle. Let it be noted that at this point between 14:00 - 17:00 there was NO Reservation or state bank approvals on the vehicle, as it had also just came out of auction with no bid either.
Following my WhatsApp & Telephonic confirmation of purchase to Luke, I enquired with Luke, what he needed to formalise the sale via WhatsApp (trail available). During WhatsApp exchange i had to go into telecom work meeting. But managed to provide Luke with all requested documentation (ID and proof of address) to facilitate the sale or reservation at around 14:32 - 14:40.
At approximately, 16:00 - 16:30, while still busy with my meeting, Luke advised via WhatsApp text that we could finalized the sale the following day, seeing im still caught up in my meeting. Thereby creating the understanding that the vehicle had been reserved and internal sale processes were underway. As a result I agreed, without any concerns.
At approximately 17:10, Luke informed me via WhatsApp that he has just been notified that another buyer have just received bank approval for the vehicle. I then took acception to this and requested he address this. As the car was meant to be regarded SOLD/RESERVED at 14:45 after receiving my confirmation and requested documents.
Luke acknowledged his error and indicated that he would engage his manager/colleagues to sort out the internal error, specifically a failure to correctly extend or complete the reservation/sale process.
On the morning of 3 September, upon visiting the WBC branch at around 8:30am. I briefly met with Luke and a man introduced as CJ, his manager. CJ's (the manager's) posture when engaging me was rude, dismissive and undermining. And without hearing what i had to say he said, "Luke, told me what happened, unfortunately car is sold sir!" Basically dismissing me without fully considering the account of events. Notwithstanding Luke protest to his posture & remorseful acknowledgment of the error during the exchange.
Another manager who was passing by recognized commotion and upon listening realised that the issue stemmed from an internal failure from Luke, to reserve the vehicle or conclude the internal sales processes. The 3rd party manager, then proceeded to suggest a remedial action. Which CJ, was apprehensive towards, because of his explicit biase toward the later bank approved buyer. While equally Ignoring Luke's continued remorse & apology towards me.
If I am to describe Luke's posture during the exchange it was that of shock at his managers apprehensive ********* behavior and refusal to consider the facts. As suggested by the other manager, CJ reluctantly agreed to do what was proposed, but not before he stepped outside called the F&I consultant advising them to get the secondary buyer sale finalised - thinking I wasnt hearing him.
The manager CJ, appeared unwilling to objectively consider the facts or explore a fair resolution. Worse is when i realised CJ's intention to expedite the sale in favour of the other buyer while we were taking, I requested an audience with the branch manager! Therein i experienced resistance from him, including attempts to discourage direct engagement. Sighting that the branch manager was busy and already been informed and was in agreement with him.
I then proceeded to make my way to the Branch Manager's office. Because, i had to take the long route, CJ, quickly used those mobile things they use in branch to make his way to branch managers office. Because i found him there, he told me to wait while he advise the manager I'm outside.
Ironically a few minutes later, another gentleman appreared indicating that the branch manager was busy and he was delegated to meet with me. At that moment i realised that I was going on. Worse is when CJ tried to sit in that discussion, to which i refused. My discussion with the delegated manager, was cordial but i realised that the decision to give the other buyer preference was already taken. As the car was being prepared for delivery.
The overall handling of the matter demonstrated serious breach of ethics, a lack of accountability, transparency, and willingness to remedy an error caused by internal processes.
Primary concerns include: 1. Failure to address and consider the sales person's failure to correctly reserve and secure a confirmed sale. 2. Dismissive, unprofessional & ********* conduct by CJ, the manager. 3. Lack of a fair and reasonable resolution despite there being an explicit acknowledgment of fault.
