The proudly South African sweatshop
I started working for the company in April 2018, for their campaign called Yodel. In my first month working there, they breached our contract by not paying my training group the basic that was owed to us. However, we let it go as we started late and understood that there would be discrepancies. The end of our second month working there arrives and my team realize that yet again we are not going to be paid the basic amount agreed upon when signing our contracts and had the matter escalated to HR which was quite stressful as well as infuriating as we were tasked to do the same work as tenured staff even though our contracts stated that we would go live after 3 months of being in training ( another breach of contract as we still did not have our rates increased to those working as live staff). The work environment was uncomfortable - we worked on top of each other (no space which allowed illnesses to spread quickly), our managers did not take on managerial responsibilities e.g. willingly take escalations when requested by customers, the company's process changed erratically, ******** and favourtism was normalized within management, false adverti*****t of incentives promised by the divisional and operations managers, victimization of employees on the floor by management and no beneficial work morale boosters i.e the company failed at boosting the work morale of employees and instead offered putrid games and luxuries such as sweets and your once in a blue moon KFC Streetwise 2/Gatsby on a Saturday. Finally, I must reiterate the pay queries the campaign had each month is seriously appalling ! Do not work there.
