Wahoo Trainers are brilliant until they are not

I purchased a Wahoo Kickr about 4 years ago and now I am having issues with my smart trainer. On initial purchase I had issues and they replaced the unit but now 4 years down the line the unit is screaming and vibrating to the point where my neighbours can hear me when I am training. On investigation where to have the unit fixed or serviced I was told there are no spares in the country. I contacted the importer and they looked at a warranty claim but said no that I should buy a new unit at reduced price. Now these units go for around 22K and only last 4 years is a serious problem for me. I would rather have it fixed and continue using the one I have but since there is no service center or after sales spares it seems I would need to pay for a new one at a reduced cost. To all you cyclists out there looking to buy a smart trainer, please be aware that once these units fall out of warranty there are no spares or service centre's that could help. Wahoo sell to an importer who in turn sell to agents who in turn cant help when the unit gets old and starts giving trouble. Great product but if out of warranty and starts giving trouble it becomes a throw away and you need to buy new. 4 years in and mine is a throw away.
