Goldwagen Tokai - level of aftersales services is not precious

My husband purchased an item required for the repair of his vehicle and the purchase was made based on the guidance of his mechanic at Goldwagen Tokai. He supp**** all the relevant information (VIN, Chassis #, etc) and was assisted by Kyle Bezuidenhout. The sale took place, and they opened the item on site and some of the packaging discarded by the salesperson. It was subsequently established that the part was incorrect and my husband approached the store to request a refund. He was informed that the item cannot be taken back without the packaging and he would have to forfeit the money paid because of this. He went back to the store, however the salesperson was not on duty and he explained the scenario to the Manager (name not known) who alluded to the fact that the mechanic must be lying and did not take the liberty of engaging his staff member before making foregone conclusions. The terms and conditions were not explained before the sale neither is it printed on the back of the slip but is only available on the slip in the form of a QR code which makes reference to Section 49(4) of the Consumer Protection Act. We are mindful of the CPA however it does not absolve the supplier of liability or risk and instead places a duty of care on the supplier to make the buyer aware of the terms and conditions before purchasing the item.

We are appalled at the manner in which this issue was handled and will certainly not support Goldwagen Tokai in the near future due to the disobliging attitude of the manager on site.
