Bad service / No customer relations.
On 9 .04.21 I bought an electric switch for my Polo's window. The gentleman that served me checked the Vin no on my disk to ensure that I receive the correct part. On 23.09.21 I took it back as my auto electrician said it was the wrong part. This was the only time he was available to fit the switch, but still within the 15 days time limit for replacing parts. On my return 2 of the guys working there informed me they will only replace /refund if I have some proof that the part was the wrong one. I went back to Strydom's Electrical who gave me a written note to the effect that the part did not fit. Strydom told me that it was ok as they know him and accepted his notes. On my arrival at the business I was referred back to " Oom Jan" the person who concluded the sale on 9.04.21. I referred me to their stamp on the ivnoice stating that no electrical parts aare to be refunded. Q is : " Why send me back for proof if they knew I would not be refunded. Surely no fault on my side as "Oom Jan" was the one who took down the Vin No.
I have no mala fides against the business. I have a family member who is one of their managers in Gauteng. I also discarded a previous unfortunate event which occurred during December 2020 ; I bought a timing belt and some other parts to service my car. my grandson accompanied me and whilst waiting in the row, a lady appeared from a side door and almost went beserk and shouted that kids were not allowed. She pointed to a sign of which I did not notice at first. I apologized and told her that my grandson has accompanied me on previous 2 occasions in that same time span ( 3 weeks ) without any interference. I left without buying anything.
I eventually bought the right part for a fraction more on line.
