Dishonest ducking and diving service
I feel compelled to write this review as I am exceedingly disappointed with the service received from VW Table View. I have a mint condition 2015 Polo Vivo GT, with 50 000km on the clock. It was coming up for an annual service in a couple of weeks. I noticed a small leak under the car and didn't think it was the aircon, so I took it in for a quick check. Dricus, the service manager was pretty annoyed when I ended having to plead and beg him to pop it on the lift and just have a quick look underneath with a torch to confirm if there was a leak or that it was the aircon. He grudgingly had a look and said that it was probably the aircon. Annoyed at me for taking up his time he told me there was no leak and sent me summarily on my way. VW South Africa called me to remind me of my annual service coming up and a nice lady said she would get Table View to phone me. I was apprehensive because I was given short shrift at this dealership before. Also, when I bought the car, there was an engine cover missing exposing the spark plugs and coils when I got home. I went back and they said the vehicle was not supp**** with it!!! I had to pay for the cover at R600 odd. Back to Dricus. I booked the car in with him and he said there is a special on wheel alignment and rotating and balancing. There was a feeling in the steering of unbalanced wheels so I took the offer. I also asked him to check the left front headlights as I don't think they were reset properly. He wrote that down on the job card. (My son had a bit of a prang and hit a pavement some time before, necessitating and new left front rim and tyre. There was some scratches that had to be fixed as well) I got a call saying that the radiator was leaking badly on the right hand side and it had to be replaced. A couple of drips on my garage floor is not leaking badly. And your diagnoses Dricus??? I had no choice. They said it can't be repaired. By their description, leaking badly meant that it was gushing water and I had to have a new one. R10 000 later, when I got the car back, the front headlights were the same. There was no printout for the wheel alignment, (Jonathan said the printer was broken), the new tyre was still on the front of the car, (I checked with a tyre gauge) the wheels had not been rotated and balanced, as the weights from when I bought the car nine years ago were still in place, now discolored. I got some bulldust report from Jonathan about the wheel alignment and rotation. Hogwash! This proves that they did not do the wheel alignment and balancing and rotation and also they did not check the front left lights. I found the problem myself. The plug that goes into the light fitting at the front left of the car was unplugged! I still had to pay for it to be not diagnosed. I complained to Jonathan. Jonathan then said he'd phone me after finding everything out. He did not. I had to go in again and confront him to find out what they had to say about it. He spoke to Dricus who passed everything off as having been done and that was it. Take your vehicle and GO! A Dishonest, Disgraceful and an expensive lesson. I will NOT be going back to VW in Table View. On checking Baron's in town's reviews, I see the same dissatisfied customer reviews!!! So they are out too and also Bellville. I have now had to go to a wheel alignment establishment to have the work done again, at further expense. What I am wondering about though, is did they really change the oil and oil filter in my vehicle and do the safety checks of a proper service that I originally wanted in the first place????? Makes you think. Be careful before you take your car to VW Table View. :-( :-(
PS. Russell Please don't bother with you standard reply to all the bad reviews that you received. It's not worth your time and effort. So I'll write it for you.
Good day Stuart , we are NOT very concerned to hear about your experience at our dealership. Can you kindly NOT email *** for further assistance
