VERY bad service from dealership
I purchased a car online = vehicle was delivered to me in Bloemfontein on the 20th April 2022 @131511KMs and I was immediately not happy with the condition of the car, dirty interior, body damage (rear left light), old wipers. I called the dealership and notified the Sales Buyani & we came to an agreement to get damages quoted and they will take care of it. I also requested the service book, the spare key and copy of the roadworthy certificate (85 point check report), to date, not yet received. 22 April I had someone have a look at the car, more discrepancies were discovered battery too small and poor paint job on the body; I asked to cancel the deal immediately (within the 5 days cooling period) They refused to cancel the deal - I signed/accepted the car as is.
13 July I experienced problems with the car, lost power as I was on my way to work and it came to a stand still. Engine light now on (dashboard). I immediately called the dealership to notify them. Opel gave me a book-in date for Friday 15 July 2022.
15 July I arranged with Manger Thomas George, for me to get quotes for the light, wipers and battery - then he can pay while I am there for the stuff to be ordered & be replaced for me. Payment only confirmed 5 August 2022.
2 August 2022 Opel requested the service book from me and I requested again from the dealership as I never received it when I requested it in April.
3 August The dealership told me they were still trying to locate the service book from the previous owner.
10 August The dealership sent a copy of the service book to Opel, but there are discrepancies picked up in the copy e-mailed, compared to what is on the Opel system (Pictures will be submitted at request) The books said the car was serviced 15 April 2022 at 119937. The next service will be at 135000 or by 15 April 2023. When the car was with me it was on 131511KMs What did they do with the car in 5 days to top up the KM with 11574. I had the car from 20 April 131511km until 15 July it was on 133775 (2 months and 25 days, only 2264km added) This car is already due for service in less than 4 months.
My warranty only approves R30 000 towards the engine replacement. The dealership wants to contribute R30 000 and I should contribute R33 000. They are holding me responsible for the damages to the engine.
I have a report and photos from Opel that the damage did not start now, it's old damage the rust in the engine is too much.
This whole process has caused me a lot of unhappiness + sleepless night. Today I am a whole month and 19 days without my car. I have paid for a car without enjoying it - I have not had the chance to bond with the use of my money, feels like I am throwing my money away each month.
Is it possible to get a refund for all my installments and the dealership to keep their car? I just want out of this deal. My mental health has really been maxed.
Your urgent attention and feedback will be appreciated. Regards, Mpho Mopasi - ***
