They Broke my working car. Disguted at level of service when they are in the wrong!
On 22 November I booked my car into VW Barons (on Edwin Swales Drive, Rossburgh). My insurance requested that I get a Diagnostic done on my car referring to a claim that I lodged with my insurance. From the 22nd of November my car had been standing at VW Barons. After a fight with my insurance they rejected my claim and proceeded to pay for the Diagnostic and Wheel Alignment. On Friday 8 December 4 people came to look at my car as I am selling it. At 3pm Friday afternoon I took the 4th person to view my car, my car started perfectly (as it always does), my coolant light came on as my water was low. Other than that my car was running perfectly as it was when I took it in on 22 November 2017. The interested party offered me an amount for my car and I declined so he left. I went to the service agent and told him that I will be there Saturday morning at 8am to pay and take my car. Saturday morning I arrived at Barons with Buyers for my Vehicle, I paid for the Diagnostic and wheel alignment and then waited for them to bring my car through from the parking lot. A few minutes later I was told that my car would not start and that they have tried to run start and jump start my car but it still would not start. My companion asked to see the car and was told yes, when we got to their parking lot my car was out of the parking space as they tried to run start the car. My companion then tried to start the car and no luck. We pushed the car back into a parking space and continued to open the bonnet. We then saw that everything was drenched with water, Computer box, air filter lining etc. I then went through and requested a manager. He came through and took a few photos and walked off again. The mechanics came and took my car to the service area to try find out what has happened to my car. About 3 hours later we where told that the Cambelt tensioner has moved and with them trying to run start my car they bent 8 valves of the 16 valves. They blamed it on Component failure. The mechanic that was working on my car to find out what had happened said that the bolt holding the tensioner was tight and that the cambelt was also tight. HOW does a component fail standing in one place not being driven?? I contacted Shane Naidu today 11 December and I am still awaiting a reply on the co**** of action. I have subsequently lost out on an amazing deal on a car that I was going to buy. And a deal on selling my car for what it is worth. They could not give me the diagnostic that was done on my car that the insurance paid for. They re ran the diagnostic AFTER they had broken my car. I have requested for them to give me proof that the wheel alignment was done on my car and I am still waiting for that as well. DID they even do the Diagnostic? DID they do the Wheel Alignment? Did someone drive my car like a bat out of hell Friday evening? When I asked for the video footage of my car standing in the lot they the Dealer Principal changed the subject! DON’T use these people!
