Worst service ever.
Vox Telecom was hired by me to install business fiber for my online teaching business that I run from my home. They quoted me and guaranteed that the work would be done in 4 - 6 months from 1 July 2018, taking into consideration that there might be slow-down during December which would result in the fiber only being ready at the end of January 2019. They finally had the line installed at the end of April, after many phone calls and inquiries from my side. I wanted to withdraw from the agreement by the end of January but because they have already started the trenching and laying the fiber they told me that it would be breach of contract from my side. So I hung in three for another two months, even though I knew it was actually a breach of contract from their side by not having delivered the service by the latest end of January just because I do not have the time fro court battles as I actually work, long hours, and I know a big company will get expensive lawyers and legal loopholes and win the case. At the end of March I was really frustrated as my business had by then already lost more than R100 000 due to the fact that they had not delivered on time. I had to sell my vehicle to stay afloat. The fiber was installed bot not working. I had four different technicians here at four different times who could not figure out what was going on and then would just leave without having solved the problem. Eventually at the beginning of May my fiber was installed, after the fifth technician realized that the fiber was "patched wrong" whatever that means, after I had to purchase a cabinet, which they have not mentioned in any quote or discussion, and I being a language teacher not an IT specialist had no idea what was needed, beyond what they had quoted for. Certainly it had to be included in the original quote? Finally my business could start running and I am reminded every so often to pay my account on time, which I always do and mostly 15 days in advance. Bear in mind I have a very expensive, dedicated service (business fiber) not a household cheap package. With any cheap FTTH package there is always a router included that makes using WiFi in the home possible. After the fober was installed I called them again asking what my WiFi password was, just to be told that a WiFi router was additional and that they can quote me on one ! Surely that should also have been mentioned in the quote, as I have numerous friends with FTTH, not FTTB, and they never had to be quoted or buy anything additional, it is a given that it is standard that if you get fiber you get WiFi automatically included. On 21 June I started experiencing the service dropping any time of the day and I called their 24 hour support team, only to be told that the line is up on their side, and they hung up on me. I called again on 24 June and the same thing happened. On 28 June I had no service at all - it flat-lined. I called their support again, just to be told the connection was up on their side. I reminded them of their claim to have a business fiber line up and running within 4 hours if there are some issues. Four hours later there was still no service. I was losing money by the minute and insisted that a technician be sent to me immediately, upon which they said they would find out which day and time the technician would be available. That is madness: I pay for a dedicated service, because in my business I cannot afford to have one minute of interrupted service, I cannot wait for days to have a technician sent to my house. I am not in a position to change service providers, because they would only provide this wonderful, dedicated business fiber service after signing a two-year contract. I know I am right and I know I have the moral and legal right to get out of this contract and get another service provider; I also know however that large companies like them can get better and more expensive lawyers and will win the legal case on some technicality. I also do not have the time to go and stand in a court because I have to work ten times harder to make up for all the losses that I have incurred whilst dealing with Vox. I just want to warn everybody else out there: DO stay away from this company to save yourself pain and loss of income.
