Vox will BLACKLIST you for a month to month contract, STAY AWAY!!!!

I moved form Durban to Johannesburg. i had a month to month Fibre contract with Vox. I requested a line transfer and they told me I would have to cancel and re-apply for the service. This would mean I would have to end my contract within the 12 month window and I would have to pay a cancellation fee. I decided I would pay the cancelation fee and just get another service provider.

I moved to Joburg and realised after of 3 months of moving that they were still debiting my account, but I realised that now it falls outside the 12 month clause and it is now a month to month. I called, and they claimed I never sent the email cancelation. I sent them the record of me sending the email.

I never asked for a refund for the months I was not using the service, But after speaking to them I expect them to cancel the service since they gave me the details and the information for cancelation which turned out to be wrong.

Now they are harassing me and threatening me with legal action. Firstly it was a month to month agreement, why am I obligated to pay for a service that was shut off the month I did not pay? Secondly, I MOVED, where do they think Wifi router is? It was nailed to the wall and no one told me at the end of our arrangement they retrieve it. People warned me about this company, I dont know how they stay in business.

  Good day,  Ntando K

 Thank you for your query.

Kindly note that the Accounts Department has sent correspondence to you pertaining to your billing dispute and the outcome thereof.

As per the Subscriber Agreement, Vox waivers the Set Up and Configuration/ Installation Fees upon signup on the condition that the Service remains active for a minimum period of 12 months.

The element of the Service that is comprised of the provision of the Circuit is provided to the specific address set out in the Subscriber Agreement with a Circuit leased by Vox from a network operator. Accordingly, the provision of the Circuit is not transferrable to another premises.

Notwithstanding that the cancellation is necessitated by relocation, Vox needs to recover such costs associated with such cancellation.

We can confirm that the initial email for cancellation of services was sent to a incorrect ,  email address and therefore not received.

Should you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us on *** or email ***

Kind Regards,
Vox

Firstly, the service did remain for longer then 12 months, please check your records. Secondly, your agents were the ones who gave me the cancelation email address. I followed there instruction and I typed it while I was on the phone with them. I find it strange that, though you say the cancelation email address is incorrect, it went through. Let me be clear, this is not a payment dispute, I paid for 2 months while not using your service. This is a clear, and very blatant message to who ever needs to hear this... Stop sending me threats, I will not pay for a mistake your people made. I can more then afford it but its the principle, Your people taking accountability for a mistake they made. You will have to eat this situation and learn from it so you can have a better process and be more professional. Stop sending me threats, I expect a summons from your next correspondence with our court date, otherwise you will be ignored.

The other thing I have been asking myself, If you can sign me up for your service over the phone, how come your customers can't cancel your service over the phone and only via email?
