Vox Telecom ******ionate cancellation fees: subscriber agreement breaches Consumer Protection Act

Vox Telecom is attempting to ****** me. Vox Telecom is claiming from me a cancellation fee that is in breach of section 4(3)(a) of the Consumer Protection Act. Vox Telecom claims that I owe the full amount payable under the contract (all of the remaining 9 months) in terms of an ******** contract term in their subscriber agreement that dictates the payment of a cancellation fee equal to the entire amount due on the contract. Section 4(3)(a) of the Consumer Protection Act protects consumers from these sorts of ridiculous cancellation penalties in that a reasonable cancellation fee is due. Do not sign a Vox subscriber agreement, they will sting you for the full amount if you cancel before the contract runs its course, and give you the run around trying to sort it out. Stay away from Vox is my advice. Consumers shouldnt have to spend days on the phone trying to stop companies from ******** charging them exorbitant cancellation fees. I received a phone call from Vox today for the first time after multiple emails and call center call back requests. Vox has been utterly useless in addressing my query. Despite my attempts to speak to someone in the Vox Telecom legal department, I do not for some reason hear from their in house legal advisors. All I want is to pay a reasonable cancellation fee and move on, but this seems too complex a request for Vox to understand (OR they are too dishonest to own up to their breaking the law and just play dumb). I cannot recommend enough that you stay away from Vox.

Vox has still not sorted this out. Today I got an email from Vox telling me they will give me a discount on the exorbitant cancellation fee. The mere fact that they refer to it as a "discount" constitutes a lack of acknowledgement that I owe them a reasonable cancellation fee as per section 4(3)(a) of the Consumer Protection Act. The discount amounts to what is a cancellation fee equating to roughly 6 months worth of subscriptions. On what planet does Vox think that 6 months worth of payments is a "reasonable cancellation fee" in terms if a 12 month contract? this is a joke which is very unfunny, I have never dealt with such an utterly dishonest company, where their contract blatantly breaches the Consumer Protection Act and then they act as if they are doing me a favour my "discounting" the ridiculous cancellation fee to an amount that goes way beyond a reasonable cancellation fee. These ***********s also refuse to break down the figure they are offering because they refuse to acknowledge they breach the Consumer Protection Act in their contract and rip people off. Vox Stay away from Vox. A bunch of ***********s that do not have a clue about customer service.

Vox has still not resolved this issue by giving me a fee breakdown of what Vox claims I owe as a cancellation fee. I have waited weeks now for a manager to revert with a fee breakdown, but I have received nothing. Today I received an email from Vox threatening legal action unless I pay the figure they allege I owe. Vox is utterly clueless, and treats its customers badly. I am fed up with Vix's dishonest refusal to account to me the breakdown of the cancellation fee I owe. All I want is to pay a reasonable cancellation fee (which is broken down so that I know what it comprises of) so that I can move one, and be rid of this utterly *********** rude company. Vox has been utterly dishonest from teh start, trying to rip me off with an exorbitant cancellation fee that breaches teh Consumer Protection Act. Only after I threatened Vox with a legal letter explaining the *******ity and threatening to take the matter to the Consumer Tribunal did Vox drop the cancellation fee it alleges I owe, but it refuses to give me a fee breakdown. Pathetic.
