Vox Telecom and their poor client services.

Vox has the worse customer retention policy and is such a difficult company to deal with, actually their customer retention policy is non existent. I recently took up a business fibre contract with them thinking it was on a month to month basis. Unfortunately after 6 weeks of having the contract, I needed to change addresses and wanted them to install at my new address which in within a 5km radius from my current address. On another note they did not install any hardware as I already had it in place, all they had to do was plug in and test the line which the technician spent a max of 5 minutes doing. At this request, they insisted that they needed to charge me a fee of R1500 for cancellation and I needed to take out a new contract for the new address as the contract was not more then 12 months old. I cannot figure out why, as I was willing to keep my services with them and stay their customer but just needed to change addresses and have the line reinstalled? After much back and forth with my agent, they could not oblige my request. I have now been charged the cancellation fee anyways of R1500 even though I have given them 1 months notice to cancel as I am very disappointed with their service and the way they handle their customers. In stead of keeping me as a paying customer for the next 12 months whereas they could have made R7500 from my contract, for R1500 they have lost me as a customer, how ridiculous! Surely companies like this need to be flexible in their policies? No wonder they have a 1star rating. They market as a month to month but please be aware within the first 12 months, you will be charged a fee if you cancel or move addresses etc. Very disappointing. I also have a personal line with Vox which I am planning to cancel. I do not want to be associated or support a business that operates like this.

Good day,  Laiyah Mudali

Thank you for your query.

As per the Subscriber Agreement, Vox waivers the Set Up and Configuration/ Installation Fees upon signup on the condition that the Service remains active for a minimum period of 12 months.

The element of the Service that is comprised of the provision of the Circuit is provided to the specific address set out in the Subscriber Agreement with a Circuit leased by Vox from a network operator. Accordingly, the provision of the Circuit is not transferrable to another premises.

Notwithstanding that the cancellation is necessitated by relocation, Vox needs to recover such costs associated with such cancellation.

We have also taken note of the Cancellation date dispute and have escalated the query for further assistance.

We will investigate the matter and provide feedback to you soonest via our official company communication platforms as per our website.

Kind Regards,
Vox
