Vox Sucks And Breaks Promises
I placed an order to upgrade my 2Mbps ADSL line to a 10MBps ADSL line on 19 February, which was then promised to be upgraded to 20MBps for free.
26 February 2021 - (Promises free line upgrade) Vox - “Openserve, our upstream provider and the owner of the DSL network infrastructure in your area, will be doubling their DSL line speeds as of 1 March 2021, per the table below.”
9 March 2021 – (Sorry for the delay – getting to it ) Vox - “As these upgrades are being managed in a phased approach, Openserve estimate completion no later than 31 March, barring any unforeseen circumstances. Once completed, you'll be able to enjoy double the line speed at no extra cost.”
7 April 2021 – (Falsely Confirms 20MBps installation ) Vox - “We hereby confirm that the Vox Pure Connect ADSL-VUBC-20MBPS: Vox Uncapped Pure DSL up to 20Mbps including Line and Data Service with Sip Voice services which you recently placed with us, has been completed. “
8 April 2021 – (Promises upgrade soon) Vox (After asking why my upgraded line is still on 10Mbps) - “The supplier is doing a bulk upgrade on all new line installation. All line upgrades are scheduled to be completed on a time frame supp**** by the supplier. They will be communicating via email to keep you informed regarding the process.”
6 May 2021 – (Lies that a communication was sent that it’s only fibre clients who qualify) Vox - “Our sincere apologies for the miscommunication regarding the ADSL upgrades, there was a miscommunication from the suppliers’ side. The speed upgrades were actually on the Fibre connections with Openserve, these were already implemented. We sent out communication regarding this I’m not sure why you didn’t get it on your side.”
13 May 2021 – (After asking for above “communication” – says instead that my area does not qualify ) Vox - “That mail was not meant for the Heidelberg DSL customers and was only meant for selected areas and Heidelberg is not one of them. This was a system error and therefore this those not apply to your account.”
13 May 2021, moments later – (Upsells?? ) Vox - “Just checked and what we can do is Upgrade you to a 40Mbps for R675.00pm and you will only be paying R100.00pm more and going from a 10Mbps up to 40Mbps.”
Why Vox sucks:
- Quoted 2-8 weeks to upgrade my line, took 11 weeks. - Constantly having to follow-up to get it done. - Reasons given for the delay were: -- My daughter gave the wrong address (I don’t have a daughter) -- Contact could not be made with me (no attempts to contact me were made) -- My address is incorrect (I’ve been at the same address, on the same Vox account, for 10+ years) -- Had to wait for Openserve technician to come to the house to do… nothing. - Had to remind them that the 11 week old order is still short a modem. - Replies to emails with phone calls (I am capable of phoning, I prefer emails, which is why I sent… an email) - All the lies above (which is why I’m sure Vox prefers phoning). Not hard to see why Vox went from top 5 ISP and is making their way to the bottom of the list. It’s because Vox sucks.
