Vox Shmox
About 6 months ago I enquired about having a Vox fiber line installed in my home. They requested my information and banking details, at this point I was not sure why they needed my banking details but I reluctantly provided the information. However it took Vox forever to come out to my home to do what they need to do. Long story short, I informed the sales lady Kelebogile Dokotla to cancel everything as I have now installed the Rain 5G network in my home which was quit an easy process to acquire.
On Saturday 20 February 2021, I received an email with an invoice stating that my line has now been successfully activated and that I received a free-to-use wifi router. Vox now expects me to pay R342.96 as per the invoice. They have also added a 20/20mbps line at R876.52 of which I know nothing about. According to Vox there was a person at my home to install and activate this line on 18 February 2021.
Now lets get this right, I am happy with my current services provider. I have never had any dealings with Vox other then me calling to enquire about a line more then 6months ago. There has never been anyone at my home to install anything to do with Vox. I have never seen anybody face to face ever to do anything regarding Vox.
Vox is now contravening the POPI act because I have not given them consent to use any of my information, I did not agree to any contract with Vox neither did I give them permission to use my banking details.
This morning I called Vox to inform them about this issue and they requested me to provide proof that I did not apply for any line with them. The consultant also went along and said that it may be a system error, how is that my problem.
