Vox Holding Monopoly on my units Fiber Line.
I moved into a new unit in September of 2020. I ordered Fiber from Vox as they were my ISP since 2018 and it all went downhill from there. 2 Weeks before we moved into the new unit we placed an order with Vox to have fiber be installed at the new unit so that when we move in, we can set up and I would be able to work with out any disruptions.
They contacted me a few day before the move saying that everything is fine on their side and the line is active. We moved in and as we set everything up I noticed we have 0 connectivity. I called in and they were unsure what the cause was. Long story short a 3 months after calling out who knows how many hundreds of rands of airtime and spending how many hours on the line with them the problem was never resolved. I ended up cancelling the line.
Cancelling the line in it self was a massive headache but they managed to get it sorted for me. Here is where my real issue is. At the start of Feb 2021 I called another ISP for them to arrange a fiber installation in my new unit. As they were busy processing order they told me that they were unable to complete it as VOX is still holding on to the line!!
I called VOX to have this sorted out. They got back to me saying that there was an amount outstanding on my account. I was furious, apparently they charged me to cancel my package which was never even active and was billed for. I couldn't take it anymore and just payed the outstanding amount to have them release my line. I called in again to ask them to have the line released and they escalated and escalated. Turns out there is another "in flight order" on my line in a pending status. The new ISP escalated that the order be canceled, Vox's cancellation team also escalated this for me. Its March now and VOX has YET to release my line!!!!
How is this even allowed for a ISP company to hold your line in monopoly and NO ONE is able to cancel it and have the line relinquished from Vox? How is this fair towards me where its been almost 6 months of moving into a new unit unable to get Viber because one company just does what they want with 0 consequences.
Is there someone that will be able to help me please?!?
