Unfair and ******** return policies.
After my initial 12 month agreement with VOX ended, I decided to not continue with their service due to affordability.
They forced me to pay an additional month before they would disconnect my line. This according to the agreement is only valid if cancellation occur within the first 12 months. I however proceeded to pay the initial extra month as I was not up to arguing the facts.
Once the extra month came to an end, Vox disconnected my line, and I was send a statement reflecting a "Zero" balance.
I then received another email, requesting that I return the "Free to use" router within 10 days, or I will be liable for the cost thereof. I was afforded 2 options: 1. Take the router to a nearest Postnet or 2. Supply them with an address whereby they can collect the equipment.
I informed them that I was unable to take it to a Postnet, as I was working out of town at that moment, and that the router is at my place of residence, I supp**** them with the address, and informed my housekeeper to have the parcel ready when the courier arrive. Vox initially send the router to me via a technician that installed and commissioned the equipment
Vox refused to respond or acknowledge this.
I then received an invoice of R1600 for failing to return the equipment to them. I again responded and informed them that they failed to collect it from the address supp****. Once again they (Vox) chose to ignore my emails.
I am now being threatened with legal action and possible listing with the Credit Bureau.
This is very unfair, and even possibly ********, as nowhere in the agreement does it state that the customer is liable to return the equipment at their own expense! They blatantly force the customers to purchase the equipment once cancelled.
