Quick to sign you up; not so keen for you to leave

In 2016 I signed up for Vox Telecom services at my house in Westcliff. On the 15th February 2017, I called Vox to inform them that I was moving and would like to cancel the service, or transfer it to my new house in Houghton.

A very helpful person sent me through to Sales, where someone duly placed an order for the new service and offered to cancel my current service. I queried if there was anything else I had to do and was assured that they would ensure that all was effected.

I moved on the 1st of March 2017, and Openserve came to install the line at my new house. However, it took numerous calls to Vox to get my service activated and a router installed. This was done around the second week of March.

Towards the end of March I noticed that my statement reflected both sets of installations: the one I had cancelled and the new one. I called Vox, sent emails and logged queries. Very little was done (they did come to fetch the old router).

I was then directed to Vox's website to cancel the previous account, which I did. I also then spoke to a consultant who advised me that I would get a credit.

However, I informed them that I could not pay double what I had budgeted for. Only the service I had ordered. A technician informed me I would have to pay the two amounts and would then be refunded. This was untenable for me.

I have now received my second account, which reflects the services at my old address and my new address. Right now this amounts to over R7000. My new service is supposed to be R1599.

I have not received any of the call backs I was promised. I have reached the end of my tether and am cancelling the service. Can Hello Peter help sort this out for me?
