No empathy, it's all about the money
I unexpectedly had to move end of July, after having just signed up with Vox telecom a month before that. To use their ADSL service one has to have access to ADSL line infrastructure with Telkom. During August, after having requested my ADSL line to be moved, I was eventually told by Telkom, the 20th August when they eventually pitched for the installation, that there was no infrastructure in place for the line to be activated again. In the interim, I did not pay my VOX subscription and I advised them I'm waiting for the line to be installed. I had no access to an ADSL line hence no access to VOX or use of their service. When I updated them that I will not have use of the service due to Telkom, they would need to cancel it, they said sure. They still billed me for the service for September as well as August's, because they insist on getting a month's notice for cancellations. I think I gave them sufficient time to cancel the service for the end of August before invoices were raised for the next month. One would expect common sense and understanding. But no, blame it on procedure. Nevermind a bit of humanity.
