Horrific customer service leading to cancellation of account and even that was a JOKE!

In the beginning of December 2021 my husband spoke to Natasha Naidoo about moving our VOX line to our new home premises. We were told that we have to pay a cancellation fee and then a reactivation fee at our new home, which didn't make any sense as all the infrastructure was already set up at the new home premises and all was required was a transfer of the line.

After multiple attempts to call the call centre, being placed on hold for hours and being pushed from one department to another, we again spoke to Natasha she was unwilling to assist us in this regard we decided the best option was to cancel our account with VOX due to horrific customer service and the unwillingness for anyone to assist us.

Natasha said that we would need to send an email before the end of December 2021 for this request to be processed. She DID NOT stipulate which address this was to be sent to and a Cancellation email was sent to Natasha Naidoo for cancellation at the end of December as discussed. We have since received an email from Natasha Naidoo on the 6th January 2022 saying: "I was on leave and was unable to attend to your cancellation request sent to my personal mail. I can assist with cancelling now but this will be for the end of February as the notice period." This goes against the VOX code of conduct:- Provide consumers with information regarding services and pricing - Provide consumers with guidance in regard to their customer needs, upon request This is UNACCEPTABLE that they want to now extend the notice period for another month because their employee was on leave. As per the electronics communication act an email for cancellation was received in due time and has been recognized that this email was received by the recipient. The cancellation WILL be processed as originally requested and WILL end, end of January 2022. As per all of this we agree that we do NOT owe VOX for anymore services which we have not used IE January 2021.

 Good day  Janine P ,

Thank you for your query.

As per the Subscriber Agreement, Vox waivers the Set Up and Configuration/ Installation Fees upon signup on the condition that the Service remains active for a minimum period of 12 months.

The element of the Service that is comprised of the provision of the Circuit is provided to the specific address set out in the Subscriber Agreement with a Circuit leased by Vox from a network operator. Accordingly, the provision of the Circuit is not transferrable to another premises.

Notwithstanding that the cancellation is necessitated by relocation, Vox needs to recover such costs associated with such cancellation.

We have also taken note of the Cancellation date dispute and have escalated the query for further assistance.

We will investigate the matter and provide feedback to you soonest via our official company communication platforms as per our website.

 Kind Regards,
Vox
