Barrier to cancel
I have recently installed a Frogfoot line and accepted Vox as the ISP. I needed to move house. The new premises already had a Frogfoot line installed, however Vox insists that I cannot continue with the contract on the new address. I need to pay a cancellation fee on the old address and essentially pay another installation fee on the new premises, even though there is already a line installed and I wanted to continue with the agreement.
So, to have the contract transferred to a new premises will then effectively be R 3,450.

As per the Subscriber Agreement, Vox waivers the Set Up and Configuration/ Installation Fees upon signup on the condition that the Service remains active for a minimum period of 12 months.
The element of the Service that is comprised of the provision of the Circuit is provided to the specific address set out in the Subscriber Agreement with a Circuit leased by Vox from a network operator. Accordingly, the provision of the Circuit is not transferrable to another premises.
Notwithstanding that the cancellation is necessitated by relocation, Vox needs to recover such costs associated with such cancellation.
We will investigate the matter and provide feedback to you soonest .

14 Aug 2023, 13:48I have not requested a cancellation of the service. But if you want to insist on your R 1 7250, then take the loss of the R 999 subscription fee that I was prepared to incur indefinitely.

14 Aug 2023, 16:33The lease you pay is paid through my subscription fees, which I was willing to continue with at the new premises. Having me pay for a cancellation fee at the old premises and a new installation fee for an already installed line a the new premises is ridiculous.
