Poor service from Voltex Randburg

I bought a Shoto lithuim battery from Voltex Randburg in February 2023. Obviously whilst buying the battery the salesman tells you how many items they sold, that it has 10 year warrantee and how wonderfully it works.

After 9 months, the battery starting acting up. I reported the battery faulty at the end of the February 2024. Voltex staff were apparently very busy and promised to call me back. After 2 days I had called them and threatened to write review on them, it only then that I got response. I was asked to bring the battery in.

I was then informed that it take 7 working days to diagnose the problem. During that period i had to continuously ask for feedback. Eventually on the end of the 6th working day, I was given feedback that the battery was indeed faulty, they needed to order a part that would take another 10 working days to order. They refuse to replace the battery.

With all the loadshedding, my life has become miserable, but most importantly my dad who has COPD is coming to visit me. He needs a constant power supply for his CPAP machine and oxygenator.

I made an appeal to Voltex to help me with loan battery and to even speed up the repair. They refused to assist saying they are following company policy. I even contacted the regional technical manager and am still waiting for feedback from him.

These are just delay tactics to pull me through the 10 day waiting period. I urge everyone to be cautious whom you buy an expensive piece of equipment from. Find out about their return policies etc. Ultimately it's just business for them. I will never support Voltex again.
