Poor communication
I contacted Voltex in dbn a few weeks ago to purchase 2 x invertors. Everyone was super helpful and within about a week,I had the invertors.
Here comes my issue: No one told me that my warranty on these 2x12k invertors would be null and void unless one of their approved technicians installed the invertors. If they had,I could have made an educated decision to either go ahead with the sale and find one of their approved installers or to find another supplier.
My problem is not that they have this policy,in hindsight-it makes sense. My problem is that Voltex should have made sure that I was aware of this, especially because they knew I was buying the invertors in my private capacity. Nothing was said to me at the time of the purchase, there was nothing on the invoice. It was only later on that this policy was pointed out to me,and then it still took me about 20 minutes of reading on their website to find it.
Do better guys. We have a lot of desperate people out there who are trying to make a plan to have electricity despite the endless loadshedding. People take their December bonuses to buy appliances in the hope that their life will be made better but because of lack of communication, they are not making wise decisions.
I will say that Warren from Voltex has gone out of his way to help where he can but everyone's life would have been easier if we had been aware of this policy.
We apologise profusely for any misunderstanding that might have occurred when you purchased your invertors from us.
Our sales staff would have assumed that you knew that any type of electrical installation should only be done by a qualified electrician. That electrician would have then issued a Certificate of Compliance. This Certificate of Compliance is issued to protect you and ensures that your warranty remains valid and that any insurance claims would be unhindered.
We have, however, taken what you have said to heart and are looking at ways at to ensure that this is properly communicated to all customers.
