On 28 June 2022 I bought a two lead acid batteries from Voltex. Less than a year later the batteries are completely dead. I went to complain and spoke to Wayne one of the employees who actually sold me the batteries and assured me then, that they had a longer life span than the gel ones which lasted me three years. He told me that these type of batteries were manufactured to handle stage one and two of load shedding and couldn't cope with the higher stages that we've been experiencing recently. He said there was nothing they could do so I have no choice but to buy a new. This was the most ludicrous thing I've ever heard and I was surprised that this wasn't explained to me at the point of purchase. I want them to refund me because I can't be spending R9000 annually to purchase batteries.
