Misleading advert
I saw the Volpes advert on Instagram advertising a sale of Winter linen for 3 days, May 1st to 3rd, all less 30% and a delivery fee of R60 for courier delivery.
I called the Newmarket Mall Branch in Alberton to ask if they have stock. NO stock. They had no stock of white flat winter sheets most of last winter, nothing earlier this year, nothing on the 1st May, but the company places an advert as above!
I then decided to order on-line (1st May) and saw that the discount was less 25% with a R90 delivery fee. I ordered 3 x Winter white flat sheets and it specified 7-10 working days for delivery. I assumed with the lock-down, couriers would be busier than ever, so 7-10 days would be the maximum wait.
Yesterday I sent an email to enquire and received a reply to say they are waiting for stock from their factory and as soon as that happens the warehouse would send me a notification. No mention of how long it would take.
I think it's blatantly misleading of Volpes to advertise products that are not in stock yet without mentioning what the expected delays would be, especially now with the Covid-19 restrictions. They must have known there's no stock of winter linen (besides a few blue and pink sheets) anywhere so why even open the stores on May 1st as an essential services provider? Sounds like a scheme to rake money in before they even manufacture the goods.
Looking at past reviews it appears Volpes doesn't give a hoot about complaints, so I'll avoid them forever and also ask the bank what could be done to reverse this sale.
