WORST CUSTOMER "CARE"
WORST CUSTOMER "CARE" never busying another VW again.
Last year my VW polo TSI (which I do not consider a bottom of the range car) had its 60 000 service. two weeks after I was driving when the radio started to turn itself on and off, constantly flashing. I then had an electric burning smell come through the car. I Immediately stopped thinking my car might be on fire and found the nearest VW to take it into. When I got to my regular car dealership In George, I booked the car in and on arrival was told for the FIRST TIME that I do not have a mechanical warranty anymore and so the diagnostic and repair was going to be at my expense. There was no I'm sorry your car was burning, no concern that it could have been from the service, no kind attitude or care whatsoever.
I left angry looking for another answer. Called customer service to ask why I hadn't been notified of an expired warranty so I could make an alternate arrangement, and again - no concern, no help. They said I need to pay for the VW diagnostic and they will 'see if they are willing somehow help'
I took my car to an alternate person to diagnose and was told the only option would be to buy an ENTIRE new radio as this is the motherboard for the car and has to be specially coded by VW in Germany - a lovely R18000 procedure.
Two months later I somehow stumble across someone else who has had THE EXACT SAME ISSUE with their radio.
I'm sorry VW but how do you build cars whose radios burn out and then have no willingness to assist??
Im appalled.
