WHAT THE VOLK IS EPC?

I purchased a brand new VW polo gt a few months ago and it is continuously giving me problems with the EPC light. I took it in and was told it was the tail light, then that it needed to be reset then that the accelerator pad needed to be replaced and still the problem persists. Now I have been told that i need to take it in for what will be the second service within a month. When the EPC light goes on the car begins to slow down so you can imagine hoe frightening this is when it happens on the freeway. I feel like I've been given a faulty car because no one can seem to tell me what exactly is wrong with my car. Servicing must now happen again at VW Hatfiled in Braamfontein and frankly I have lost all hope in VW.
