Vw unable to resolve the same mechanical issue for the past 3 years
Hi Sir/Madam,
I am writing this email with utter disgust at the service and incompetence of VW South Africa. This is especially disheartening as i have been a loyal VW client. The purchase of my Jetta is the fourth brand new volkswagen that i have purchased. I have been having a reoccurring issue with mt Jetta 1.4 TSi since i purchased the car brand new. VW have been unable to resolve the underlying issue. This has resulted in me taking my car into the dealership numerous times with no satisfaction. Every 2 to 3 months the engine light goes on, car shudders and jerks. The dealership asks me to bring the car in for a diagnostic test. They seem to find a quick fix and i have to go back to run another diagnostic test. I have lost count of the number of times we have repeated this process.
Now that my 120 000 thousand maintenance plan has expired, they are expecting me to pay for repairs that need to be carried out. My concern is that this is going to be an ongoing issue. Earlier this year i had left my car at the dealership for 3 weeks. I was told that the issue was resolved. I went in to collect my car, drove less then 2km down the road and had the engine light go on again. I returned to to the dealership immediately. Besides all the excuses i received i also discovered that the engine cover was left in my boot.
On a separate occasion they had also failed to place my lock nut back into the jack Kit. it was later found in the workshop.
During the course of the year i took my car in for a service. once i had picked up my car, the oil light went on within a few 100Km. I had now discovered that they had not put in a single drop of oil at the service. They insisted that all cars have an oil change at point of service and therefore not possible that my car would not have any oil. Two weeks late i receive a phone call from the dealership with them apologizing and saying that they had an issue with the oil filling machine.
The list goes on. The dealership in question is VW the Glen in Johannesburg south.
I have reported my issue to VW South Africa Head Office a few times. They just escalate this back to the dealership and we begin the meri go round all over again.
I have told the dealership that i will not be picking the car up. I will most definitely not be paying for any repair work as they are not able to find the underlying issue and i am not will to continue this repetition any more. This has cost me dearly already as i work in sales on a commission basis. I've had to now also cancel my holiday plans and this has resulted in me loosing R30 000.00
