VW Taigo Engine Issues

On the 20 June 2022 I purchased a new VW Taigo vehicle at VW N1 City. I received the Vehicle on the 20 June 2022. On the 31 July 2023, I noticed my engine light, EPC light was on as well as error: Stop/Start had come up. I informed my sales agent of the warning lights on the 1 August 2022, I was advised to bring in my vehicle so the technicians could have a look. It said the vehicle might need a software update. To date my vehicle has been in 6 times for VW to find out what the issue is, VW factory recommends changing different parts in the vehicle. It is clear the Technicians and Volkswagen do not know what is wrong with the vehicle and keeps changing parts by trial and error.

They say its fixed but the next day the same errors occurs every time there’s a new issue as to why the lights are on, they can’t tell me what the cause of this is. I have been very patient with the process, It has gotten to the point where while I’m driving I’m constantly losing power.

Below are the repairs done to my vehicle to date bearing in mind this is brand new car and the engine light came on a few weeks after I got it.

1. VW software update 2. EPC sensor replaced. 3. Car miss firing – work done on spark plugs. 4. Replaced faulty no2 injector. Even after everything the error light are still there.

VW website clearly states “A Check Engine indicator will stay solid or blink. Blinking Check Engine Lights mean the situation is serious and you should slow down, find a safe place to stop, and contact a Volkswagen Service Center.” My engine light was blinking. My vehicle has been in for repairs longer than I have had it, I have not received any call from Management at VW regarding my Vehicle. I’ve been following up with my sales agent but the feedback that they are receiving is to keep doing repairs. This has been a massive inconvenience as this is my work vehicle and I am now forced to take money from my own pocket to pay for the work trip and claim it back, not to mention I am paying a lot of money every month and I don’t have my car! I have been a VW customer for 7 years now and think the way this has been handled is completely unacceptable, I have reported this to my company, I do not feel safe in the vehicle and my company will not allow me to drive this vehicle for business knowing the safety risks. I do not want this car back, I’ll only be happy with a new car since this Issue started a few weeks after I got the car.
