VW Strijdom Park robbing customers

I took my 2013 polo GTi (CL23FFGP) to VW Strijdom Park after engine light came on, after initial diagnosis they told me that cylinder 2 and 4 was losing compression, however they couldn't pinpoint the issue unless they took my engine out, and that is a fee of R12152.40.

I agreed to that amount and VW started with the job, they final outcome was that they found that the piston was cracked, and the total amount for repairs was R51000 after discount has been added.

I couldn't afford the repairs, and decided to take it to a 3rd party vendor, in order to get my vehicle, I paid the original fee of R12152.40 and has asked that the need to make sure all the parts were there when the 3rd party came to pickup the car.

After my vehicle was towed and it was at the 3rd party when they told me that there were major parts missing, including DSG gear box, Engine Sub Assembly, Front cradle with radiator etc, crankshaft, the actual pistons, the wiring harness etc, that does not even taken into account the bit and ends such has nuts and bolt etc.

So I went back to VW Strijdom Park and asked for where my parts were, only to see that all the stuff is still lying in the workshop, and was told that the mechanic who worked on my car has left, and that's why half of my car is still there. If I wanted to come pick it up i could but they can't be sure that all the bits and ends would all be there. Now im no mechanic, however after speaking to several of them, they all didn't understand why they had to strip the whole car just to look at pistons, and on the quote itself, VW quoted me 4 pistons when only 2 cylinders which were losing compression?? also a water pump?? that alone is R4010. What i don't understand is this, on the quote they are charging me a whole bunch of stuff that I should already have, why are they quoting me things that surely can still be used??

When i took my car into VW i drove it there, after I paid R12152.40 I cant even tell anymore if its still a car. and still not sure if all the parts are there either. I now have no choice but to tow it back to VW Strijdom park to fix at an additional fee, as the 3rd party will probably find missing parts and it will just end up costing me more money in this matter or fighting with VW Strijdom park for it, it will get ugly this way quickly..

It’s VW Strijdom Park policy to pay half of the quote so that they can start working on my car, so I paid an additional R13000 plus the R12152.40 I already paid, which equals to half the original quoted amount, they started working on my car.

After 2 month, the car is finally fixed, when I asked for the remaining amount so I can finally pick my car up, a NEW quote of R56k was sent to me, also they are saying that they have taken into account the R13k I paid but in order to get my car I have to pay an additional R43000??? Firstly what happened to the original R12152.40 I paid them?? Also why has my quote gone up to R56k?? When I asked them about it, they then tell me cos of the VAT increase??? It’s a 1% increase!! Not 10%!!

They are clearly robbing innocent customers, and clearly gets away with it all the time! The only reason why I towed my car back there is because they left half my parts on the floor in their workshops! I can’t believe they can get away with this.
