VW-SA Vehicle Parts Non Availability

I was involved in a car accident December last year. Insurance approved the claim and car towed to an Autobody repairer early in January. Replacement parts were ordered by the repairer through Hatfield VW. I was informed that they could not find one part locally (side panel) as the car was manufactured overseas. The repairer and Hatfield VW confirmed that an order for the outstanding part was placed in Germany and would be delivered. Six months later, my car is still at the repairer waiting for delivery of the part in order to complete the repair. On numerous occasions I took up the matter with my insurer, the repairer and VW dealership without any success. I even took up the issue with VW-SA and they give me the same feedback every time to say they are sorry, but I have to wait for the part to be available in Germany first and no one knows when the part will eventually be available. All these parties have failed to assist me with a means of transport and I have had to hire a car at my own cost for all this period and this can go on for the whole year or indefinitely at my own cost.<br> How can VW sell cars and fail to supply necessary parts?
