VW Polokwane - worst service ever!!!
I brought my wife's car to Polokwane VW for them to do a 80 point check. I spoke to a service advisor called Michelle. I told her that there's oil leaking from the engine on top. She booked the car in for me.
She later called me and told me that they did the 80 point check and they found that the gasket needs to be replaced and I asked them about every other problems, and they told me about the light at the back which I also told them about.
I then asked them about other problems that i have experienced with the car which they didn't tell me about when I was told that they will check everything. There were more problems that I told them about than their 80 point check that I decided let's cancel the 80 point check because if I have to pay so much and still be the one knowing more about the issues on my car than their 80 point check it will make no sense at all.
They stayed with my car for about 5 working days just to replace a seal/gasket and a weekend. I had to rent a vehicle while they had my car with them. I was only told when I bring back the car for the 3 time to then that they were waiting for the part that time which I was not informed of. I was then told that the oil leak on the engine is sorted and that I can come fetch the car. I was charged more than R5000 to replace a part that costed R500. They charged me more than R1000 for labour and they claim that it took them 5 hours to place the gasket.
I took the car and then washed the engine so that I can see if there was still a leak on the engine. After a while driving the car, I experienced the same thing and the EPC light. I took it back to them an explained to them that the car is still leaking oil the same way on the engine and there's an EPC light which was not there before. Michelle asked me to show the problem to the mechanic. I showed him.
They took it and told me that the EPC light was from a ***** that was loose. They also told me that they the leak has stopped and even though I told them that I washed the engine and it's still leaking even after.
I washed the engine again and still experienced the same oil leakage on the same place that I showed them I left with the car.
They called me recently to remind me that my car might be due for service. I told them that they have a very bad service and I explained why. I was advised to take the car back to be checked.
I took it back and was told that I will have to pay if they find the problem to be something else. I told them that that would be because they misdiagnosed the car because it's still oil the same way at the same place.
I was called and told that the car is leaking oil underneath and I asked if the oil is leaking upwards towards the top because that's the problem I came to them with and they claim it was resolved.
I was told that for them to do so they will have to open the engine. They said they will check it again.sobi left the car again with them. Today I am called to tell me that from what they can see, nit what they checked because they still didn't open the engine, so they assume that there's problems the oil pressure switch, front crank shaft seal and oil sump.
So now I have asked them to give me a refund because clearly they misdiagnosed the car before and made me pay lots of money nothing.
I am also not sure if the oil will not continue to leak again.
I told them to give me a refund and then quote me to do what they were supposed to do before but they are refusing.
The oil is now worse because it's showing on the coil and gives an EPC light. I have since been buying 5 ltrs of oil before and after they had claimed that the car was fixed. If it was fixed before I don't think I would be back here and stressing myself so much.
I called and stope to the service manager and I told him that I am coming through to take to him fave to face but on arrival, they told me that he just left and I didn't even take time.
I feel that they don't take me serious.
I have even filed a complaint with the head office VW South Africa.
