VW not playing fair

Last year in November I had to replace a car battery that was under warranty. Now 7 months later, this battery also has to be replaced and VW are saying the replacement battery has no warranty as it was replaced under warranty....how does that work? What if the battery that was replaced in November had only lasted 1 week? Surely the replacement battery should have some sort of warranty? Please explain!
