VW Melrose / Hyde Park - Appalling Service
I had taken my car to the Hyde Park VW in September with issues relating to my EPC light and throttle body . After waiting a number of days for them to receive the wiring needed to fix the issue and several follow ups from my side with Gilbert, I finally got my car back after paying a lot of money. I was not happy with the service received by Gilbert and asked to speak his manager. I was then put through to Graham, who was rude, not helpful at all and just did not care about my complaint. I had eventually given up contacting them.
Two months later, a fault relating to my EPC light and throttle body came up AGAIN. After speaking to Graham about this and me insisting that I am not prepared to pay when the issue has clearly not been fixed OR was misdiagnosed initially, he insisted I bring the car back to have a look. When taking my car in this morning to their new Melrose branch, I was the first car in queue and had been waiting outside their service entrance from 06h30 so I could ensure my car was attended to first and timeously (knowing the service received previously). The first phone call I had received was at 1pm to say my car is stuck on the lift as they are experiencing a power failure, but the issue is in fact the throttle body itself needing to be replaced. After stating again that I am not happy to make payment for this as it is clearly related to the previous issue, I was told that these two issues, apparently, have nothing to do with the one another and as such I will need to pay, BUT they are not sure of the amount yet as they don't have power.
After receiving NO follow up call, I gave them a call at 2.30pm so see what was happening. They were still not sure of pricing and I was told that the issue could not be explained to me properly because "I am a lady and most probably won't understand the terminology being used". I had then told the LADY helping me to contact my father as he may be able to understand (being a male). My father was then told by Graham that they actually are not 100% sure what the issue is and we would be contacted as soon as they know BUT he was also told that the first time I had come through (2 months ago) the wiring was not actually replaced but rather repaired?? How is this the case if I had waited a number of days new wiring to be delivered and had paid a lot of money for the wiring to be repaired??? Needless to say, I am still waiting for a follow up call.
I am absolutely disgusted by the service (or lack of service rather) received from every single staff member I have dealt with. One would think that because they had received numerous calls from myself as a very upset customer, they would kick the service up a notch?! I have absolutely no words. I am sitting here car-less and very unimpressed.
