VW Claremont
I bought my car through VW Claremont in July of 2021. Not even 6 months ago. The application process as a whole was a disaster. once everything went through and all the check were done, the car was finally shipped to VW Pinetown. Never in my life have a bought a new car and when i picked it up it wasn't even washed. i got a dirty car. i had to make numerous phone calls to find out where the car is when i can pick it up etc. due to time restraints. not once did i receive a courtesy call or just a your car is here for pick up nothing.
Then things got worse. i got the car, and the tyre pressure light was on. after i received confirmation from VW that this will be fixed before i pick up the car. Never the less i fixed it and went about my business. not long after, my infotainment system went off and just never came on again. i took the car to an RMI approved workshop, and the confirmed the infotainment system cannot be fixed only as the centre screen also forms part of this and they have to order the entire screen from an agent. a new screen is in access of R50 000! i took out a warranty and they only cover R17 000. Please tell me who has R33 000 laying around for a screen. i then asked them to check the fan belt as it was making a funny noise. only to be further informed that the Tensioner needs to be replace and my break pads are worn through. bare in mind i only have the car for less then 6 months! i have photos and detailed invoices of the repairs that are required. i am only trying to enjoy my new vehicle but it is already costing me money and its a BIG headache. This journey with VW has been nothing short of atrocious! They claim to sell vehicles who went for all the relevant checks but one thing after the other needs to be repaired. i have not put 3 000km's on this vehicle as yet. You pay R300 000 for a vehicle which isn't even fully functional. i will be going to the ombud for further assistance with this as i do not find this acceptable.
