Vrrr... Break + ******* Service

My 2014 VW Golf GTI had a fuel smell at idle. Upon diagnosis at the dealership (Tavcor PE, then Dutton Sasolburg), they said it's the high pressure fuel pump. The pump was replaced under warranty at Dutton motors on the 6th of Jan 2017. While travelling on the N1 S on Saturday the 7th of Jan 2017, there was a knock on the engine bayjust after passing the Grasmere one-stop everytime I try to go over 60km/h. I drove at 40 until the Grasmere tolgate and stopped the car. The petrol smell was back and it was now stronger. The car couldn't start again. I was stranded at night. The vehicle was towed to VW Lenasia. No courtesy car was provided by the dealerships or VW themselves. As I'm writing this, they are still busy with the diagnosis (as per telephone call on 23 Jan 2017), I don't have transport, had to book an unplanned flight back to PE and leave my family behind in Gauteng, had multiple other costs (taxi cabs, flight penalties, family penalties and work penalties).

VW DOES NOT CARE.

It says a lot if a company makes mobility products but does NOT guarantee mobility.

What amazed me is that when I called the VW Customer Interaction service, they told me more that once that "VW doesn't guarantee mobility to the customers". This is odd because they are a company that makes and sells mobility products.

I personally will not buy a VW product again. Not because of the product, but because of their customer service or lack thereof.

This means, if you are a VW customer, you would have to fend for ourself should their products fail.

Worse still, there is a gentleman at work whose Tiguan has been giving problems for over 5 months and VW can't fix it. Another one at work had an almost similar problem with his Audi A5 several times until he had to give up on it. Another one had gearbox issues with her Audi Q3 and swore that her next car won't be an VW product again.
