Volswagen Amarok

I recently bought a Volkswagen Amarok 2.0 4motion auto through Mastercars with an Mastercars extended warranty. On 5Nov my bakkie broke down and was taken to a nearby Volkswagen dealership wich stated that the Megatronix was broken. I took the bakkie for a second opinion to a gearbox spesialist (eventually it wasnt just the megatronixs) and the Volkswagen dealer outsourced this to the gearbox company.

The repairs for this gearbox was R90 000 and luckily we had this extended warranty.

We have contacted Volkswagen in this regard as it is unacceptable for a bakkie to have such a major break on 115 000km. Volkswagen just states that the bakkie isn't at a Volkswagen dealer and its not their problem.

So. Just a fair warning. Amaroks can break at 115 000 km with full service records and I sincerely hope that you either have an extended warranty (and a spare bakkie for 6 weeks as the parts need to come from Germany) or R100 000 cash as you won't get any help from Volkswagen in this matter.
