Volkswagen Genuine Parts Warranty

I bought a Genuine part 6 months ago from VW as a result of Slave Cylinder failure that is situated inside the gearbox of my VW sharan.<br> 6 Months later the new Genuine Part failed again.<br> <br> I contacted the dealer and did an enquiry about the warranty on the spare part they sold me.<br> After a lengthy discussion and a call to VW SA I now understand that there is NO warranty on their spares if not fitted by a Volkswagen dealer.<br> <br> Now lets think about this... I have a 2005 Vw Sharan that is out of warranty for years... my generic warranty regards a RMI workshop as sufficient and capable to do minor and major repairs etc.<br> And obviously would now have an issue to pay again for this was done 6 months ago.<br> <br> I have now came to the conclusion that we as old car owners should as far as possible not buy from the agents... what is the advantage of buying an OEM part as to an imported non OEM part.<br> <br> Its cheaper and as unreliable as the other. NO WARRANTY on the Genuine part!.<br> <br> And imported part Warranty if there is merit (upon inspection) and installed by a reputable RMI dealer the full warranty on a generic or imported parts supplier locally.<br> <br> Disgusted VW Owner<br> <br>
