Unfair service

I drove my VW Up along the garden route and the car started giving me trouble on my way to Storms River. Alone with my daughter, I pulled over and called my Insurance who gave me the instruction to try and get to the nearest garage which was Storms river and they had my car trucked from the garage to the closest dealership which was Knysna. Because my car is still under warranty I was told by VW assist that I had to call them first and they were therefore reluctant to give me a courtesy vehicle to get back home. Eventually they've given me a car for a week but now my car is being trucked from Knysna to PE and it takes 7-10 working days. Now I'm supposed to fork out almost R8000 to rent a car because they refuse to extend this rental. Absolutely insane!
