Terrible Experience with VW SA and VW Mokopane – No Accountability After Vehicle Damage
I am extremely disappointed with the service I’ve received from VW South Africa and VW Mokopane over the past three weeks.
I took my vehicle to VW Mokopane due to a strange noise it was making. When I went to collect the car, I was shocked to find it leaking all its engine oil. This was not the condition the vehicle was in when it arrived at the dealership. I immediately reported the matter to VW SA and opened a case.
It’s now been over three weeks and I have not received any meaningful feedback. Every time I follow up, I’m told that the case manager is off sick and I must just wait. This is unacceptable – a company of VW’s size and reputation should have contingency plans and proper customer support structures in place.
To make matters worse, the staff at VW Mokopane were extremely rude and unhelpful, and instead of investigating properly, they blamed the tow truck for the damage. This is completely false. I handed over the car with no leaks, and I provided clear videos and pictures showing its condition before delivery. The tow truck operators have also confirmed in writing that the car was not leaking when they dropped it off. It’s clear that something went wrong while the vehicle was in VW Mokopane’s care, yet they are refusing to take any responsibility.
This experience has been incredibly frustrating. I trusted VW to take care of my vehicle and to handle complaints professionally – instead, I’ve been ignored and blamed, while the damage remains unresolved.
I am now publicly asking VW SA to take this matter seriously, assign a new case manager immediately, and provide a proper resolution. I also expect VW Mokopane to be held accountable for their poor service and the condition in which they have my car in.
