Service/Warranty a Joke!

On the 07/11 my VW T-Cross went in for it standard 30 000km service at Alan Hudson VW in Nelspruit. The same day I advised the service advisor that my car was misfiring and lagging in performance and that it was to please be checked.

That afternoon, the service advisor contacted me and advised that the reason my vehicle was misfiring was under investigation and that they were getting warranty involved and that my vehicle was to stay another day. I was also advised that both my front and back brakes needed to be replaced at a cost of R7000 to which I rep**** how is this possible? My vehicle is only on 30 000km, I was told that I drive my car too hard. (Good response!!)

Fast forward to the following day, I was called and told that my spark plugs needed to be replaced and this was the reason as to why my car was misfiring. I was told warranty won't cover this as its not a warranty issue and I am to cough up R1700 for the replacement of all plugs. When asked why my service plan doesn't cover this, I was once again told that the spark plugs only kick in after 45 000km or a "major" service.

I contacted VW H/O warranty department and was helped by a lovely lady Amanda I believe her name was. She timeously got back to me within 48hrs to tell me that unfortunately I wont be reimbursed as Alan Hudson advised that my car had been misfiring due to "dirty fuel" this is not what was told to me.

My issues are the following - 1) Alan Hudson told 3 different stories. God knows what the actual reason for my vehicle misfiring actually is. 2) I've had to cough up R1700 for spark plugs, only one of which needed to be replaced and no reimbur*****t 3) My vehicle is only on 30 000km ODO. How the hell is it possible that ALL of my spark plugs need to be replaced, BOTH FRONT & BACK brakes need to be replaced and my vehicle misfires. Yet, not one single person at VW can tell me the actual reasoning but I am expected to just cough up money. What the hell is the point of a service/maintenance and warranty plan/s if VW take ZERO responsibility for anything!
