Road side assistance a NO SHOW

Tuesday evening a noticed a flat tire on my car while driving. I bought a new polo from VW cape town in March so still have warranty etc. I attempted to change the tire but that thing was STUCK. I have changed many tires in my life so it wasn't a case of incompetence. I called VW road side assistance at 11PM and spoke to Marius who stated that someone will be there to assist in 1 hour. 1 hour later Marius called me again stating that he cannot get hold of a mechanic but will keep trying. More time went by and Marius called again saying that he cant get hold of a supervisor or ANYONE to assist. at this point my frustration was high and somethings were said. I hung up the phone and called my insurance Santam who sent someone out in 45 mins to assist. at around 1:25AM i get a call from someone who was half asleep stating that VW called him to come help me (he was a outsourced mechanic) i advised him to go back to bed and that Santam will come and help me. Long story short the wheel was changed. Mechanic had to beat that tire off. Why even offer 24 hour road side assistance if no one works at night? luckily i was in a safe neighborhood..
