Refuse to repair vehicle

I bought a VW Polo 1.4i Comfortline brand new from VW in 2012.<br> <br> Since I've had the vehicle I've had issues with the airbag light coming on at random occurrences.<br> Each time the light came on I would send it in to get checked at VW Princes Benoni.<br> By the 5th time the vehicle was sent in for the same issue the workshop manager told me the issue has been resolved and that this will not happen again. <br> <br> So after a couple months the light came back on, I took the car back to VW Princes on the 11th March 2016 and they said to me sorry the car is out of warranty and I would have to pay to get the airbag switch replaced. +-R3000 excluding VAT.<br> On the 11th they did a reset on the system and the airbag light went off until today again 15 March 2016.<br> So I'm still back where I was 4 years ago.<br> <br> Why can they only find the fault now and not when it was sent in the first time? or while it was under warranty?<br> Resetting the error will not make the issue go away.<br> <br> I don't see why I should pay to get this resolved as this had been an on going issue since I've bought the car.<br> <br> If I have an accident with this car and the airbags do NOT deploy when they should, then I will take legal action against VW.
