Poor service
I booked my car in for service on the 29th of July 2022 at VW Parow and I couldn't make it for service that day, I then contacted them to reschedule for the 1st of August 2022, I took it in on Monday and they did the inspection and Rowena told me that my service plan has expired so I will have to pay +-R6000 and she didn't even bother to tell me what needs to be replaced or give me the quote, I asked them how? because the only reason I called to book my car in is because my car notified me last week that it's due for service. No one has contacted me at VW to be reminded of my next service, secondly, VW does no longer on the service book where I would have kept track of my next service. Rowena said I should know when is my last service as I signed on this document every time I come for service and I told her I can't keep track of what I was told a year ago and secondly on my previous services you guys usually send me a notification and why didn't I get it this time around and she kept on saying you should know every 15000km's you must come for service and I said but you guys are at fault because you did not notify me I then asked her to contact VW and ask them to authorize the service as they are at fault and she said even if she calls there's nothing that will be done.
I then asked myself why would my car notify me if the service plan has expired? and I left their offices without being assisted or my car being serviced because Rowena refused to get authorization for me.
I got home and called Volkswagen South Africa(Monday 1st of August) to complain about the service I received and I was assisted by Mark who then told me they will get back to me within 24-48 hours(2nd & 3rd of August) which those hours passed without getting any feedback I then contacted him again on Thursday(4th of August) and I was told he was on another call he will get back to me after the call which he then got back to me a day later(Friday 5th of August) and I missed his call. I tried calling back but they were closed already.
I called again this morning(Monday 8th of August) and I was told his on another call and he eventually contacted me back with feedback that he received from the dealer that they say they have proof that they did notify me of the service, I asked him how did they notify me, and he said a consultant contacted me to offer a service plan and I said I was not interested. I then asked him did I say to the consultant I am not interested or did I say I don't afford the upfront payment unless they can an option to pay monthly.
And again was that a reminder of the service or was that a Sales call? I asked Mark a question he couldn't answer, he opted to transfer my call to the dealer I then said to him he needs to answer as he is the one who contacted me with feedback and he told me plain out that he can't answer.
My question was who sets up the service indicator on the cars after the service? cause it can't be that my car notifies me later for service after it has expired. After I didn't get the answer from Mark who works at a Customer service department I then decided to call Volkswagen in Claremont and I spoke to Samantha, who confirmed that the service department set it up on the service indicator of the car, where it starts notifying the client from 13500km's up until 16500km's
Now they trying to blame their failures on me and want me to pay for the service
