Poor Customer Service, vehicle not repaired after 3 months

I purchased a Volkswagen Jetta in April 2016, a 2013 model with 73500km, because of the high reputation of quality and service delivery associated with this brand.

During May 2017 (97000km) my vehicle's engine cut out, I took it with a trailer to the nearest Volkswagen service station, Barons Postmasburg, on 25 May 2017. The diagnosis was that the low pressure fuel pump failed, it was replaced and delivery scheduled for 2 June. On the 2nd of June I was informed that the car again lost power on the way to delivering it, and it was taken back to the dealership. From this point it took till the 22nd of June to do fault finding or give any feedback on the vehicle, at which point I escalated the matter to Volkswagen Customer Care for assistance since 13 work days seemed an unreasonable timeframe. I received a quote and feedback that the high pressure fuel pump was now the problem, a claim was registered with my warrenty agency, approval granted on 26 June and a commitment was made for delivery on 30 June. The delivery date was moved twice to eventually the 7th of July. On the date I was informed that the vehicle was still not fixed. I was supp**** with a courtesy vehicle, which is really the only positive I can take out of my experience thus far. By the 2nd of August I had not yet received feedback (4weeks later) regarding what was wrong this time, I constantly raised the matter with customer care without any change being affected. On the 2nd, in conversation with the branch manager I was informed that my fuel injection system was now the issue, that the three issues can mechanically be related to the same cause and that the brach will now take up a new claim with the warrenty agency on the injectors. When by the 23rd of Aug (today) I had received no feedback from the branch again I followed up, only to be informed that the claim was rejected because of the two prior claims, with no communication to me around the matter.

Referring to my original decision to invest in the Volkswagen Brand, I would not make or recommemd the same choice based on my experience, and based on the fact that escalating to the customer care platform didn't affect any change in behaviour. My vehicle has been at the dealership now for 3 months.
