MY CAR WAS NOT FIXED

On July 2017 I had a problem with my car "Coolant" Immediately took my car in at Wonderboom VW as I bought it there. I was then told by one of the staff members that they are fami**** with the problem as almost all cars bought in 2015 of the same Model has that problem. I also made a follow up on complaint I made with regards to the sunroof which was reported during my service on the 20th Of January 2017.

I got to meet with the service consultant by the name of Henry. who told me that they have lot of cars that has to be serviced but he will push that I get back my car on Friday and as for sunroof I was told that he will not be involved, for that I need to speak to Tony who was on sick leave for almost a month .

The day I left my car at VW I made the Henry aware that I have kids and going to work will be a problem and he said to me that he cannot do anything about it, unless if I want to take back my car and bring it back on Friday for service. I then decided to leave the car and he told me that if I am staying more than 15kms radius from the dealership I will not be assisted( that time I was with my kids). later on the driver said that he can take us to our home which is in Pretoria west.

The following day I called Henry and couldn't get hold of him, I would leave my phone number every time so he can call me back, no call was received from Henry. My car was gone for more than seven days and every time I would call so I can get feedback on my car. Eventually I received a call to say there is nothing wrong with my car. I can come and collect. When I got home I realised that the underneath cover of the car was not there, only to find that it was in the boot. On Friday again I went back to the dealership and had to wait for two hours so the cover can be fitted back.

Two months down, on September the 6th the coolant problem started again. I then decided to take my car to Arcadia branch on 10th September( I was away so I parked it on the 6th until on the 10th), which then I was told that there is nothing wrong with the car, perhaps the water level was down. The technician assured me that he refilled the coolant and water, I was advised to drive the car for a while then if something happens I must bring it back. On Monday of the following week the problem persisted by then I was about 60kms from Arcadia. I went to the nearest garage for assistance. Only to find the car was overheating. water level was filled up, then I proceeded with my journey. Unfortunately from then I had to fill up the water every 6kms. I then decided to stop driving the car and rather call VW SA for assistance. I was assisted with dignity and follow ups were made very often to ensure my safety.

My car was towed to the nearest dealership which was Brits VW. I was told that the car could only be diagnosed on Thursday as they have only one technician. I then called VW SA and asked if its possible for me to get a courtesy car, since it is Tuesday and I still have to work for the whole week. I was told to arrange with the branch where my car is, the lady then said to me they are a small dealership and therefore they do not have courtesy cars. I was advised to rather communicate with the dealership where I bought my car. I called Wonderboom VW, spoke to the manager, and I was told that the cannot provide a courtesy car for me because my car is not serviced by them.

Frustrated as I was I called VW SA again, then I was told that unfortunately they do not give instructions to the dealership. but at first I was advised by them to contact the dealership. I must say that I am very disappointed in the matter I was treated with. I believe something could have been done since VW is aware of the problem. Such an attitude is disappointing, one wouldn't even advise someone to that dealership or to even buy VW if we will not be entitled to better services.
