Infringement of customer rights
I am hereby disheartened by the service I got at Linsey Saker dealership in Bloemfontein. I took in my car after explaining to their employee that my car has had an orange light on and it goes into limp mode after giving a message that reads “gearbox in emergency mode”. I visited the dealership on late January and was told o just need to replace a plug then th light will switch off and I will never the same issue. I took my vehicle and settled +/-R4000 bill. To my disappointment, I attempted to travel to Welkom the following day, 1st February and guess what, the issue happened again.
I got towed back into Bloemfontein and the car went to the dealership first thing Monday morning. The I was not charged for the second diagnostics, HOWEVER, now I’m expected to part with a whopping 26k to replace a control unit on mechatronics in the gearbox. Mind you, I paid R4000 already. I tried to negotiate with the guy who was assisting me there but he wouldn’t budge.
What I fail to understand is, why should I invite the costs for the second fault that they missed initially when I took in the car in the first place? This goes to show that customer service is not at the core of their business but money ******ion from vulnerable clients.
It is very sad noting the fact that I bought the vehicle by them and serviced it by them for many years. Today I feel so ****** by the dealership.
