Inferior Equipment

I have a full maintenance 5 year contract with Volkswagen for my 2012 Jetta. When I took the car in for the 60 000 km service on 13 January 2016, I told the dealer that the factory fitted CD shuttle was not ejecting discs. When I collected the car, I was told that this problem is not covered by the warranty or the maintenance plan. I must pay for the repairs myself. I declined their offer to have the CD player repaired.
I took up the matter with Volkswagen SA, who deny responsibility and say that the maintenance plan is not a VW product. This in spite of the fact that it was a new car bought from a VW dealership. VW SA is not concerned that a dealership using their name and is selling non compliant maintenance plans.
My conclusion is that VW fits inferior equipment and when there are problems, they just deny responsibility and blame the dealer. Alternatively, they just cover for each other while taking money from unsuspecting customers.
