"Incompetence rearing its ugly head at VW SA.

A sad reality that one has to go to this extent to get a response or any form of customer service. Although it seems to be a common trend lately. I bought a brand new Polo TSI from Volkswagen Menlyn in 2019. Towards the end of the year the car started making a strange noise. After being sent around from dealership to dealership (shifting responsibility) I have been without my car for two weeks. I saw a VW service centre as a long term parking and a car wash. After being told that 20 bolts were loose (How safe is this car if a brand new car had a number of loose bolts) and that the problem is in the body work. At the moment my brand new purchased car that I work hard to afford is at a panel beater getting body work done. Should I accept a car that was bought BRAND NEW with no accident damage to be at a panel beater. Just to mention that the service manager does not seem convinced either. Should this be a dealership issue or a factory/production issue? Through the entire process I got frustrated and worked through VW SA customer complaint centre with no added value. The individual wanted to send road side assistance out. How that would have solved my problem I do not know. After two weeks of back and forth communication the service manager at VW Menlyn called VW SA and said that the solution has been found and the car is fixed. 3 days later I get a call that the car is at the panel beaters. Clearly a phone call a day won’t keep the panel beater away. Dealership incompetence and lack of effort from individuals adds to the frustration. VW prides themselves on quality service and products but it all seems a façade. Try and get in contact with them and it’s a maze. No sense of efficiency nor concern about the safety of the client. I need answers and help from someone that actually has a say. I will not accept spending over R300 000 on a car to be sent to the panel beaters. What are we buying? Whats the quality of workmanship? VW SA what can you offer me as a solution? The mistrust I have developed in all service advisors and dealership managers I cannot be convinced that my car will be fixed nor safe.
