I Was Sold Faulty Car

Dear VW SA,

Kindly assist with the below as I believe it is unfair for one of your dealers to force me to continue with this contract when is very clear that they sold me a faulty car that couldn't even last two days.

I understand they agreed to fix the car but my biggest worry is what if they are doing quick fixes and three months down the line I'm stuck with a vehicle that's not working and I still have to pay for it for seven years.

Hi Thato,

I’m sending this email to confirm that I bought a car at VW Melrose on the 13/12/2017 and on the 15/12/2017 it was already showing engine light meaning that there is something wrong with the car. I returned the car on the 15/12/2017 to be checked and I was told the engine light was appearing because the software needed to be updated and the light was cleared. On the 16/12/2017 the engine light appeared again and I returned the car again on the 19/12/2017 and it was with you from this day to the 21/12/2017 trying to fix it. When I came to take the car I was told the oil dip stick was thee problem and that you also changed a seal that was sucking air in resulting in the engine light appearing. I took the car the engine light was not there. Today the 22/12/2017 while driving the car it lost power and the engine light appeared again.

Please note that as a result of all the above I don’t feel comfortable driving the car anymore which is why I’ve returned the car to you guys and I’m cancelling the contract.

I’ve contacted VWFS and they’ve confirmed that my application is still in process on their side and that they haven’t paid you guys so kindly cancel the application with them as I won’t be continuing with the contract anymore.
