Golf 6 clutch issue

My Vw golf 6 went in for its scheduled service last week, I have been hereing a noise coming from the engine area since I purchased the vehicle in Dec 2015, in Dec I took it to Vw Constansia, the technician I spoke to then said that the clutch needed tightening and it was nothing major, I need not worry they will just adjust it when the car is due for service.

Now when it was due for service two weeks ago it went to Vw Hatfield in Bryanston, I told the technition who was servicing the vehicle about the noise, he took a listen and new exactly what it was and confirmed what the previous tech said, it was something to do with the clutch. He then told me that Vw had an issue with the golf 6 and scirrocco 6 clutches that were making these funny noises while idling, he then proceeded to tell me that a replacement clutch would be R12800. I was highly upset, the text then printed out a letter from Vw South Africa stating that this was a manufacturing error and that the recorse was replacing the clutch.

My arguement with Vw South Africa is the following, if it is not user negligence or misuse, why should the owner have to pay for a poorly designed/made clutch ? This is a defective part and Vw should be the ones recalling these clutches and replacing them! Yes the clutch works still, but a clutch should not make a noise while in use. This is ridiculous that such a well known house name even treats there customers in such a manor.

I have reported this to Vws call center when they were doing a check on Vw Hatfields customer service, although I was assured that someone would get back to me, still waiting! They are chasing there loyal customers away.
